Manthan: Snakes & Ladders · by Sanathan Games · effective 26 October 2026
In short: Manthan has no accounts and asks for no personal details. It works fully offline. If you play online with friends, the game sends the nickname you type to our game server for that game only, and keeps nothing after the room closes. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. Any ads are family-safe and non-personalised.
Who we are
Manthan is a board game made by Sanathan Games. You can reach us at dharmicgames@gmail.com about anything in this policy.
What stays on your device
Your profile (the name and colour you choose), your scores, badges, settings, language and what you have bought are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Deleting the game deletes them, and Settings → Reset clears them.
Online play with friends
Online play is optional. When you create or join a room, the game sends our game server:
- the nickname you type, your pawn and its colour, which the other players in your room see;
- a random play ID made by the game on your device, so you can rejoin your seat if the connection drops;
- your moves in the game.
The server keeps these in memory only while your room is open, and forgets them when it closes (at the latest an hour after the last move). It does not save them to disk, and its logs record only room codes, never names. The connection is encrypted. Please choose a nickname that isn't your full name; children should use a made-up one.
Our game server runs on Fly.io, which, like any host, sees the internet address your connection comes from in order to deliver it.
Purchases
Festivals, pawns and the other items are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which handle all payment details; we never see them. To know what you own, the game uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase history and an anonymous ID it makes for your device. Purchases sit behind a grown-up's check in the game.
Ads
The free version may show ads between games and on the menu, never during a turn. We use Google AdMob with its settings for children's apps: ads are non-personalised and family-safe, and the advertising ID is not sent for requests treated as from children. AdMob still receives some information to deliver an ad and prevent fraud, such as the device's internet address (which can suggest a rough location), basic device and app information, and how the ad was interacted with. Buying "Remove ads" or "Everything" turns ads off.
Children
Manthan is made for families, children included. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no chat, and other players see only the nickname typed for online play. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
